Here’s the D.L. on the latest beauty editions added to my collection, courtesy of Christmas – Ta Luv!
I’m now the proud owner of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palette, and it was pretty much love at first sight…
I couldn’t quite justify purchasing this for myself when it launched, but receiving it as a present?! – I’m happy to accept! I’ve yet to give it a decent run for it’s money, but on first impressions it’s worth every cent – The powders give an almost photoshopped effect to the skin, and all six shades are beautiful, and totally wearable.
Amazing Present Number Two:
Laura Mercier Sweet Temptations Creme Brûlée Duet… My heart has yearned for this ever since Fleur DeForce harped on about it many, many moons ago. I die!
The Real Techniques Bold Metals Essentials brushes are incredibly beautiful (by make up brushes standards, lawlz). Christmas brought me this three piece gift set, complete with a matching clutch.
I really rate the Real Techniques brushes in general – They’re totally affordable without scrimping on quality. This is however my first time trying brushes from their Bold Metals line. Are they worth the (twice the) price increase?! I’ll keep y’all posted.
And what is Christmas without a new perfume?!
Christmas 2015 gave me Jo Malone Mimosa & Cardamom. Amaze.
My JM collection is slowly but surely sprouting arms and legs, and I’m very much A-OK with that. The Mimosa & Cardamom scent is a beauty – warm, floral, fresh, long-lasting… Obsessed.
And also, what is Christmas without some scented candles?! I especially love my new Diptyque Baies one, very gorge!
Make Up wise, I now finally have the the Balm’s infamous Mary Lou-Manizer highlighter with my new TheBalm The Manizer Sisters Palette (now on sale at said link).
First Impressions?! These are gorgeous as eyeshadows, but I can’t help but think their highlighting capability is a tad overhyped. They’re VERY sparkly – Definitely not for girl next door type highlighting. My perception however is very much subject to change once I’ve played with them a little bit more!
Skin Care Feels – I’ve a new eye cream (obv) added to my bathroom cabinet: Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado. I’ve never tried this before, and have actually heard very little about it on the old blogosphere. However I’ve yet to be disappointed with a Kiehl’s product, and therefore have high hopes for this little pot.
Skincare Present Numero Duo: I’ve been using my new Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster daily for the last few days, as an added hydrator to my moisturiser. Review to follow!
And finally, a hawt lil Secret Santa addition – The Soap & Glory Wheel Deal Giftset. I adore Soap and Glory as an affordable body care brand, so this six piece body butter/ body scrub gift set is right up my street. (It’s currently half price in Boots at the mo, so step to it.)
Side note: I also picked up this year’s Soap and Glory Star Gift from Boots a few weeks ago, so prepare yo’selves for many a S&G mention in upcoming Empties posts.
And that is that…
What beauty related gifts did you guys get for Christmas?!
