Current life situation – 8.30pm on a Sunday evening: I’m hungover, depressed, bloated, dehydrated. I’ve a six day working week ahead of me (sigh), and I’m tired and totes emosh right now. The rest of my evening shall involve Netflix and Thai takeaway YOLO, but first I’m a gonna attempt to make myself somewhat presentable for the rancid week ahead.
A weekend (slash lifetime) of sugar and draankin’ has my skin dull and dehydrated. Time to deep cleanse and scrub away the rot. I’m currently using Image MD Reconstructive Cleanser to brighten up my skin. This is a daily cleanser jammers with AHA/BHAs, which exfoliates away impurities and leaves my skin feeling primed and prepped. I love this product, although it’s WAY too harsh on my skin for daily use – I use it max twice weekly. Otherwise my face tends to peel noticeably – not a good look.
Next I’m shovelling on Glamglow Youthmud for some deep cleansing clay action. I love Youthmud, it genuinely lives up to the hype. I rate it over Glamglow’s Supermud, which I’m convinced broke me out big style along my jawline. If you haven’t trialled any of the Glamglow range yet, firstly where have you been?! Secondly, fret not and just check out my thoughts on the brand here.
Whilst I’m letting the clay mask do it’s thang, I’m dosing my hair with Schwarzkopf Professional Q10 BC Time Restore Treatment, which I picked up in TK Maxx (a ginormous 750ml bottle no less). This is so-so, I fly through hair masks like there’s no tomorrow, and have subsequently tried ten million brands. This Schwarzkopf one is decent but pretty irrelevant – I can’t see myself repurchasing. It’s no Lush H’Suan!
To inject some much needed moisture back in to my skin post-shower, I’m slathering myself head-to-toe in Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil, which I’m all about – It’s an incredibly nourishing oil which doesn’t leave my skin greasy and it smells AHMAAAZING. Obsessed!
Also, I’ve rekindled my love for Dermalogica’s MV Power Recovery Masque, which I generally use as a night cream as opposed to a mask. I’m still loving Glamglow’s Thirsty Mud mask for a moisture boost as well, it’s super soothing and replenishing – I’ve been mixing and matching Thirsty Mud and Dermalogica Power Recovery recently and am loving their rehydrating vibes.
And so, that about all the beauty TLC I can muster up. The dread of tomorrow is real. Fucking hate Mondays.
