A couple of month’s back the lovely ladies behind Spotlight Whitening sent me a box of their teeth whitening strips to try out on my pearly whites. Perfect timing for me – my teeth were in dire need of some brightening after avoiding all such products whilst pregnant.
Over the years I’ve tried many a whitening strip – I remember buying the original Crest versh on my first J1 back in 2007 (I just died a little realising that was one full decade ago). But yes – that’s how exotic they were back in the day, totes unavailable this side of the Atlantic.
Spotlight is an Irish company, set up by two Galway dentists, and Spotlight Whitening are the only European teeth whitening strips available with Hydrogen Peroxide. This fact I like, as I’ve bought dodge strips in the past from Ebay and the likes (aka China) resulting in dental sensitivity. And actually now that I think of it, I used Mr Blanc Express strips in the last year also, resulting in the same sensitivity havoc.
Anyway, Spotlight’s version work in the same way as those of Crest and the likes. You get two adhesive strips per sachet – one for your top row of teeth, one for the bottom. Whack them on, wait for thirty minutes, rinse and voila! Your smile should be Simon Cowell dazzling. As per the instructions, you’re advised to repeat daily for two weeks.
How did I get on with them I hear you ask?!
Mighty fine – After one use, my teeth were noticeably whiter with zero teeth sensitivity. Also, in comparison to any other brand I’ve tried, I really rate the adhesive formulation. If you’re familiar with whitening strips, you’ll know the pain if they’re not sticky enough/too sticky! The Spotlight strips are on the button – staying in place for the entire duration yet are easy to remove.
Did I use these once daily for a fortnight?! Nah – one application gave a noticeable lift for me; instead I’ve been using these here and there when needs be. Obviously this’ll depend on your own personal preference as to how veneer white you want to take it, (and also too on the current shade of your gnashers).
Once my current stash (you get 14 sachets per box for €40, with two strips per sachet) runs out, I’ll happily be ordering some more.
(If you’re interested in trying them out, Cloud10 are stockists and is there ever not a discount code running on that site?! )
