Last Wednesday I finally tried out Tamara Ecclestone’s hair salon brainchild – the opulent Show Blow Dry Bar, which launched last Christmas in Harvey Nichols, Dundrum.
Designed with busy yummy mummies in mind (so not me), it’s aim is to have your mane washed and blowdried in minimal time, whilst lording it up in luxe surroundings. To quote Lady Ecclestone herself ‘My home was the inspiration, this could be in my house’… And it’s fabulously decadent – think rose gold and glossy black décor. So far, so Daddy’s yacht.
Dropping Harvey Nichols and Tamara Ecclestone’s into the same brief reels expensive receipts, but fret not, the USP of the Show Bar is it’s price – €20 for a curly blow dry which is amazing value. I’ve paid pretty much double that in the same shopping centre for far less a pampering vibe. Actually I lie – It’s €20 for a blowdry, or if you buy any product from the Show Beauty Haircare range, the blow dry is complimentary.
Blowdry-wise, I was really happy with my hair – I asked for a curly blow dry, and left with bouncy, volumised waves. The Show Haircare range is fab (if somewhat overpriced) – everything smells divine! The range varies in price from €35 – €70, and I’ve subsequently added the dry shampoo to my ‘Feeling Spendy’ list.
I LOVE the concept of an in-and-out blowdry bar – The Show Bar has a ‘one client at a time’ approach which makes such a difference – No screaming children (unless they’re your own!), no listening to where everyone is off to tonight, no fifty million hair driers blaring at once.
Just you, your stylist and fresh magazines.
