So I purchased this little vial of bronzed goodness online via Boots a couple of months back, in search for the perfect face tanner.

First impressions upon opening the post? Eh, where is it? I hadn’t passed too much heed on it’s quantity upon ordering, but was somewhat disappointed at it’s measly 15ml status. To put that into context, it’s smaller than your average nail varnish.

But does size matter?! Does quality prevail over quantity? With this little vial, I’m gonna say… yes.

I’m about as payshty as one gets, and so I can only ever fake it till I make it with regards to getting the glow. But decent tans for your face are a rarity – the majority tend to either dehydrate the skin or cause breakouts. Das ist nicht so gut.

Also, most fakers tend to skip their body moisturiser if they’re applying tan so as to avoid streaks, but that’s often not really an option for your poor lil face. And this is where Clarins have hit gold. The Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster is formulated as an oil, which is intended for use as a ‘flavouring’ of sorts to your own personal moisturiser. Simply add a few drops of the good stuff to your cream/serum of choice and rub the creation onto your skin. Done!

Creating a totally customisable face tanner is genius – it can be added to a heavy duty night cream, or a lightweight gel formulation depending on your requirements. I personally add it to serums and love the effect post wake-up. It doesn’t have a scent, and the level of colour is completely buildable. Two or three drops give a subtle, ‘Irish Summer’ glow, or you can simple double it if you’re craving some SoCal vibes.

It doesn’t stink, stain or streak. Yay! Plus it’s dinky little size actually makes it quite handy for throwing it in amongst your toiletries. And because you’re mixing it with your own lotions and potions, it’s essentially quadrupling in size, and so it’s actually quite the wise financial move after all.

My top tip – The bottom of the vial can/should be pushed down to release the product. (This is actually pretty obvious but if you’re like me you won’t realise until after a week or two of using it!)

  1. This is great!, You know many skin problems occur because of the food you eat! Many of us just simply do not want to accept this to be the reason why we have wrinkled skin or acne or so on. The healthier you eat the healthier your skin a body will be and the happier you will feel! http://www.thehealthywoman.net
