I originally picked up the Body Shop’s Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil due to Amelia Liana’s constant reinforcement of it’s magical powers. I’m all over the cleansing oil buzz in general – There ain’t no thang better for removing all traces of makeup (including panda eyes), whilst leaving your visage super soft. I hate cleansers that leave my skin feeling tight pre-moisturising, hence cleansing oils being on my fleek list.
It was Dermalogica’s Precleanse that convinced me of their holy grail status. I was OBSESSED with this product, and for very good reason – It melts away the day’s grime with minimum fuss, and leaves your skin cleansed and super soft. But it is most definitely for my #feelingspendy days as it’s around 45euro for a 150ml bottle (which I normally bomb my greedy ways through!). I’ve also tried Glamglow’s Powermud cleansing oil, which is totally farcical – It’s a lovely product but presents as a weird cleansing oil/mud mask hybrid, and is ludicrously expensive for an iddy-biddy tub – currently over seventy quid for 50g. Cray cray.
I started using the Body Shop’s Camomile cleansing oil a month or two ago when my Dermalogica Precleanse was no more. And I’m obsessed! It is equally as effective as the latter at removing makeup, oil and grime, and is incredibly soothing on my skin. With minimum fuss, all traces of mascara are kaputt from my sensitive eyes, and there’s something quite therapeutic about the subtle camomile fragrance. I’m literally strung out on the stuff!
I was without it for a few days, and never have I ever missed a beauty product as much! (Pretty tragic considering I have a ridiculously oversized skincare collection). I picked up a new bottle in Dundrum this evening after work, and was subsequently so happy strolling in the door and cleansing away my worries!
If you’re worried about oils causing breakouts – In my experience they really don’t. Basic science dictates ‘like dissolves like’, and so a cleansing oil will merely draw out and break down any sebaceous oil.
Leaving you with happy skin vibes!
