My love affair with Kiehl’s runs deep through my soul…
I think it’s the whole old-school apothecary vibe – ‘Chemists’ in white coats dispensing skincare, LOVE!
I recall on my last day of a J1 summery of debauchery, hanging with my BFF in the Kiehl’s NYC flagship store, and endlessly browsing the aisles, forever ever. Notions led us to create a delusional pact to develop our own brand of pharmacy-meets-skincare, (and subsequently ditch the pharmacy feels a la Kiehls). Alas this holy grail business has yet to surface, but my grá for Kiehl’s continues to flourish.
The Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate has been on my wishlist for many, many moons. (I know I’m a decade late to the party on this one, but I’m forever imposing restrictions on new skincare purchases ’til I at least make a dent in my stash.)
How and ever, the stars aligned and I found myself waking up on my birthday to a bottle of the good stuff on my lap. Fate!
Obviously I couldn’t resist opening and using and instantly ignoring every other lotion and potion for ever more. And for very good reason – the Midnight Recovery Concentrate is MAGICAL.
After one use (a few drops at night massaged into the skin), I woke with noticeably calmer, plumper, rehydrated skin. As far as facial oils go, this is the least ‘oily’ – It sinks into the skin in seconds, leaving you sans-greaseball residue. Plus it’s scent is divine, all lavender-esque and earthy… (Which realistically isn’t going to be to every person’s aromatic palette but I’m all about the lavender hues).
It manages to deeply hydrate any dry skin areas, whilst still noticeably reducing any irritated/blemish-prone skin. Win, win.
I can instantly tell the difference in the morning when I’ve used this little beauty. Literally THAT’s how quickly you’ll notice it’s powers. The concentrate is indicated for dry, aging, irritated or blemish-prone skin… Which is basically you.
Moral of the story, get your ass in gear to your nearest Kiehls store. Side note: The staff there are never frugal with samples either. Next on my list is the Midnight Recovery Eye Gel… Sigh!
