In the words of my favourite snap chatter James Kavanagh – “Hundreds and thousands of you plebs have been asking for a how-to on this”…
As it’s Monday I’m obv trying (in vain) to detox and ditch the fifty million cals consumed over le weekend. I’m currently trying to up my omega intake via Duo’s Choice Oil, which is totes amazeballs for your general health. (Both inside and out). It promotes fat loss (Hallelujah) and nourishes your skin and hair, whilst strengthening cardiovascular and cognitive function. Win, win.
How and ever, to many peeps (including myself) the thoughts of chugging back the miracle oil is VOM, and so I only ever add mine to my blender – (when trying to be all Goop-like)… I been drankin’ green juices for the health benefits rather than the delish feels, because lets be real here, minced up spinach and kale ain’t no glass of wine.
However, one of my BBFs is currently one a major juicing buzz, and recently sent me on a few of her favourite recipes from her local organic Juice Bar in Australia – which are surprisingly delicious. Well maybe delicious is a stretch – they’re still very ‘healthy tasting’ but all in all they’re quite enjoyable!
This morning’s juice was a blend of the following:
- Two handfuls of washed spinach
- One to two tablespoons of Udo’s Choice
- One large apple
- One carrot
- One avocado
- A handful of ice
Basically just throw everything in to your blender/juicer (I use a Nutrininja), and that is basically it. Juicing for dummies.
The avocado makes it quite creamy, and incredibly filling. If you’re trying to lose weight I’d definitely recommend this one as a meal replacement as opposed to a snack, as avocados are pretty high in (good) fat and calories. But in one go you have your recommended five-a-day. Winning.
If you’re into juicing at all, you’ll also love the ‘NutriLiving Recipes’ App, which lets you search juice recipes by ingredient or health benefit. I’m always browsing for inspiration!
