I’m not the biggest sales shopper – Can’t hack the hassle. (As in, sales shopping in-store… I’ll happily spend all my dollah online). How and ever, a post-Christmas pre-New Year’s jaunt to Athlone Town Centre resulted in the purchase of two wardrobe essentials, stress-free. Thanks to winning a BloggerConf competition, I had an Athlone Town Centre voucher to spend, and thanks to a busy forthcoming calendar I literally had one day to use it… But thanks to Zara et al I knew that wouldn’t be an issue!
Hailing from Roscommon, my teenage Saturdays were spent trapsing around every shop in Athlone, but it had actually been years since I wiled away some hours in their town centre – and it was actually such a breath of fresh air in comparison to Dundrum at Christmas time…
Alas Zara was a no-go; rails and rails of mess! But I managed to source what I wanted elsewhere (I’m good like that!), aka: the neccessities. AKA: new ankle boots and a new coat.
I found (credit due to my eagle-eyed sister!) my new favourite black leather boots in Topshop – and I’m obsessed. They’re the ‘Midnight’ model – and still in (some) stores but unfortunately not listed online anymore. Thanks to the softest leather, and chic seam detail, they look (in my opinion) far more high-end than the €65 they cost me on sale. I’ve been wearing them with tights and dresses/skirts in the evenings, jeans during the day, work clothes mid-week – There’s literally nada they don’t suit!
The coat I picked up in Tommy Hilfiger (where the discounts were seriously impressive), has also been worn 24/7 since acquiring…
I snatched up this Hilfiger Denim Wool Coat for €160, and FYI – It has actually since been further discounted to €120. Total bargain.
Sales shopping success with minimum fuss, minimum crowds, plenty of parking and all the usual highstreet stores (Oasis, Warehouse, River Island etc!).
