New month, new Look Fantastic beauty box.
August’s selection of beauty products is on FLEEK – So much so that I’ve literally just renewed my subscription. As per usual, it contains six products covering hair, skincare and makeup. This month’s selection totals a value of £55.
If you’re into beauty products at all, you’ll love the whole subscription beauty box notion – Treat yo’self! Whilst the odd product gets thrown to the back of my stash, there’s always one or two gems. Last month’s lip pencil and clarifying shampoo will be definite repurchases for me – Which I guess is the whole concept of a beauty box… To get you back and spending your dollah billz.
This month’s LOVE item for me is the Eve Lom Cleanser. I literally had heart palpitations at the sight… Amazing.
I’ve been meaning to purchase this for EVER as it’s continuously name dropped on the blogosphere/social media/magazines. It ain’t cheap though – At the mo it’s eighty euro online for 100ml. The travel sized jar I received is 30ml (très generous!) and will be lovingly packed in my suitcase in a couple of weeks time for my next adventure.
For those who haven’t heard of Eve Lom, the cleanser is the star of the show. Containing eucalyptus, camomile, clove oil, hops and cocoa butter, it deep cleanses, decongests and calms your skin. The cleanser is best used in conjunction with a hot muslin cloth, which exfoliates and improves circulation. Bringing me to product number two…
A muslin cloth. I use these daily and subsequently can never have enough of them floating around. (I haven’t used the Eve Lom branded cloth before, but I presume they’re all pretty similar.) I’m a total convert on the muslin cloth buzz, they gently exfoliate your skin, making it far more receptive to serums and creams used thereafter.
Next in skincare there’s a sample of Omorovicza’s Queen of Hungary Mist – a hydrating toner with neroli and rose. The 9ml sample is pretty frugal; one spritz of it and it’s half empty. I’ll be throwing this in my handbag and forgetting about it forever more! It does feel lovely on your skin though, very refreshing.
I always love the hair products in each beauty box, and August has done it again. I’m all about de-frizzing the mane, and am therefore obvz loving these two beauties – a 10in1 Miracle Spray from Beauty Works (50ml), and a Hair CC cream from Caviar (25ml).
The Miracle Spray acts as a heat protector whilst aiming to add hydration, shine, and gloss. I won’t be expecting miracles but it’s ingredients are all pro-nourishment, with argon oil, linen seeds and macadamia being listed. The CC cream sounds more than a bit gimmicky, but I’m loving the blurb – 1 Step. 10 Benefits. Flawless hair…. If only. I’ll keep you posted! Both products are the perfect size for travelling as well, or for your gym bag.
Make Up wise, it’s about the eyes this month, with a shimmer powder and mascara to play with.
Rimmel’s Wake Me Up mascara is a full sized black mascara with (random!) cucumber and added vitamins. It’s been years since I’ve used a Rimmel mascara, and so I’m looking forward to trialling this one out. The Rimmel Wake Me Up wand is fabulously fat, and (bizarrely!) smells very refreshing – that would be the cucumber!
Due to the eye being such a sensitive area, there’s actually very few ingredients cosmetic companies can add to new mascara launches. Consequently whichever the brand, mascaras pretty much all have the same formulation, and it’s the wand which separates the gems from the duds. Chunky, bristly wands are amazing for volume and curl, and so I’ve my fingers crossed for this one as it’s a hell of a lot cheaper than what I’m currently using.
I’m in LOVE with this BellaPierre shimmer pot – Beautiful. It’s in the shade ‘Snowflake’ which is a glittering silvery white. I’m seeing this being my go-to as a tear duct highlight to brighten my peepers. As it’s 100% mica powder it’s hypoallergenic, and the pigmentation is insane. Side note – I have a few MicaBella shimmer pots which seem to be carbon copies of BellaPierre… I wonder if they’re the same company?!
And that is that. Only four weeks till my next delivery! Have any of you guys subscribed to a beauty box? I’d love to know which ones you recommend, particularly if you’re living in Ireland as the vast majority of them don’t seem to ship here. Holler to me!
