Anastasia Beverly Hills Artist Palette…

I picked up the Anastasia Beverly Hills Artist Palette on a relatively recent Sephora haul.

Why?! Fuck knows – I’m generally a Naked2 or Naked3 kinda gal… And the Artist Palette is neither naked nor natural. It consists of twelve CRAY pigmented in-your-face shades. But I wanted to push the boundaries and live on the edge – hence it became mine…

I instantly regretted it – upon testing it out, the powders creased and felt somewhat chalky – Not what I expected from quite a high-end product. PLUS the complimentary dual-ended eyeshadow brush is pretty basic and synthetic. And so the palette was thrown to the back of my never-ending make-up stash… That was until last weekend.

I whipped it out in prep for a music festival I went to (Longitude), and I take it all back; I’m in LOVE! Granted, it’s loud- The shades are definitely not work approps, and nor can I see myself using it for a casual night out, BUT for the likes of a concert where you can get away with a little bit more, it’s amaze.

After a quick browse through Pinterest for some makeup inspo (tragic, I know) I ended up with rainbow eyelids and a happy conscience safe in the knowledge the palette didn’t go to complete waste.

‘Scuse the forthcoming vainer selfies, but I gots to show off the colour pay-off from the various shades. I did prime my eyelids (with Dermalogica Skinperfect Primer SPF30), which is presumably why the powders didn’t crease. Also I ditched the Anastasia brush and used various ones from my own stash instead. I’m actually obsessed with the result and can’t wait to whip it out again at the next chance I get!
