Another month, another Look Fantastic beauty box through my letterbox…
With the month that’s in it, February’s offering is themed around love – (que the prettiest of pink packaging) and randomly comes with a complimentary issue of Elle magazine. As per usual, there are six beauty products inside – ranging from skincare and makeup to haircare.
Truth be told I have yet to open the majority of last month’s samples – I’m a tad bit over these beauty box subscriptions. Are you?! However I’ll soldier on receiving ’em til my contact runs out, being the martyr that I am…
The obvious star of this month’s show is the Hi Impact Brows palette, which contains four matte powders ranging from a taupe/blonde shade to black. I love the packaging; very compact plus it comes with a decent mirror.. . The powders are richly pigmented and double as eye shadows – I’m loving the look of the ‘spice’ shade! (RRP: €20)
Next up is a 30ml tub of Tigi Bed Head Manipulator (the 50ml currently costs €14.45 from Look Fantastic). I love Tigi products, and I actually think I may have had this texturising wax fifty years ago…. There’s also a very small, very kitsch Denman Keyring Mini Brush( RRP: €4), very handy for le handbag I guess, although it could easily get lost in my hair.
The Lord and Berry Ultimate Lip Liner (full sized product €11.95) is a product that appeared in another Look Fantastic beauty box many months ago (in a different shade though, obv) … and I loved it. The formula glides on smoothly and doesn’t dry out my lips. The shade in this pack (Intimacy) is a dark nude – perfect for this time of year.
Monu is a brand I’ve discovered only via these beauty boxes, and I highly, highly recommend if you’re looking for a more affordable range of natural, essential oil-type skincare. The Bliss body butter smells divine – and whilst being super hydrating it feels very light/non-greasy on the skin. And FYI – it’s the same body butter used in every massage at a Bliss spa!
So whatcha think? Have beauty boxes had their moment?
What should I subscribe to instead for 2016?!
